Design Editor/Creative Visuals Coordinator

The Greensboro Jewish Federation seeks a part-time Design Editor/Creative Visuals Coordinator to design, create and deliver the visual art and design components that support the Federation's services and programs. Reporting to the Communications and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Coordinator will create graphic design and visual concepts that communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate target audiences.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A strong graphic design portfolio displaying creative and conceptual thinking in various platforms
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Conceptual thinker with the ability to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into creative images, infographics, and other types of print or digital designs
  • Understanding of print production methods and experience working with vendors to ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong written communication skills and knowledge of digital best practices in design and communication
  • Excellent time and project management skills and ability to deliver in a deadline-driven environment. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects and people simultaneously.
  • Experience in video production, photography and social media is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related discipline or comparable experience,

Essential Duties

The Design Editor/Graphic Designer's primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design/layout, proofread, and copy edit newspaper or magazine content
  • Determine content for each edition and special issues with Campaign and Communications staff.
  • Coordinate production of publication, including print and mailing.
  • Coordinate with affiliate agencies to obtain copy and photos for publication
  • Attend and cover Federation events when possible and/or arrange for coverage and photography when necessary
  • Write stories and social media posts as needed.
  • Attend meetings of the Marketing Committee and staff meetings as requested.
  • Develop concepts, designs, and innovative ideas for print and web, including multi-page layouts for donor reports; infographics, pledge cards, event marketing materials, emails and graphics for digital use.
  • Produce visually engaging fundraising marketing materials that will support conversations with potential and existing donors; integrating resources from JFNA's FedCentral when possible.
